Charlie Kimball Ascends to IndyCar
Indianapolis, Indiana – At a press conference held today at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Chip Ganassi Racing Teams announced the signing of rising American open wheel driver and Hoover Hull LLP client Charlie Kimball for the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season. Kimball will drive the No. 83 Honda Dallara for Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing, with backing from primary sponsor Novo Nordisk, global healthcare company focused on diabetes care. Kimball competed for the Firestone Indy Lights Series Championship during the past two seasons, and will make his IndyCar debut in March 2011 at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg held on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Kimball was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2007, and Novo Nordisk was his primary sponsor during the 2010 season. In 2011, Kimball will continue to make appearances for Novo Nordisk throughout the country in connection with its Race with Insulin™ campaign and other diabetes programs.
