Indiana Supreme Court upholds uniform-contract-interpretation for insurance contracts

Michael Dorelli and Patrick Olmstead appeared as counsel for the Complex Insurance Claims Litigation Association, and filed an amicus curiae brief on CICLA’s behalf.  The Indiana Supreme Court reversed the Indiana Court of Appeals, finding that Indiana follows the uniform-contract-interpretation model for interpreting insurance contracts.  The Indiana Supreme Court remanded the case to the trial court to apply Maryland law to the dispute concerning insurance coverage for the cleanup of environmental contamination.
